Based on votes from New Hampshire's library community, including a tie-breaker, we have chosen The Ladybug Picture Book Award nominees for the 2022 Ladybug Picture Book Award. New Hampshire children, from preschool to third grade, will select the winning picture book when they vote in November 2022. The deadline for sending in votes will be Sunday, December 11, 2022 at 11:30pm. Voting materials will be posted on the Ladybug web page in June and a voting guide will be released around Labor Day.
The 2022 nominees for the Ladybug Picture Book Award are:
- Change Sings: A Children's Anthem by Amanda Gorman and Loren Long
- Mel Fell by Corey Tabor
- Milk & Juice: A Recycling Romance by Meredith Crandall Brown
- Norman Didn't Do It (Yes, he did) by Ryan T. Higgins
- On Account of the Gum by Adam Rex
- A Polar Bear in the Snow by Mac Barnett and Shawn Harris
- Someone Builds the Dream by Lisa Wheeler and Loren Long
- This Very Tree: A Story of 9/11, Resilience, and Regrowth by Sean Rubin
- The Very Impatient Caterpillar by Ross Burach
- Watercress by Andrea Wang and Jason Chin
