NH Poetry: Mooring Lines

Elliot DelSignore recommends Mooring Lines by Martha Deborah Hall (Finishing Line Press, 2013)

The book of poetry I'd like to recommend is Mooring Lines, a 2013 chapbook by Martha Deborah Hall, published by Finishing Line Press. Hall merges celebration and loss throughout the chapbook, wrestling with the painful end of a marriage and reminiscing on the memories of the love they had once shared. Her vivid and evocative descriptions of times past, full of life and light, are expertly juxtaposed with some of the most difficult questions that accompany the end of a long-term relationship.

Elliot DelSignore lives in Amherst, New Hampshire. He's a 2020-2021 NH Teen PoetLaureate, and his work is upcoming in Body Without Organs and the inaugural issue of Good Poetry Zine, a digital poetry zine for teen poets in New Hampshire.

This post is part of our celebration of National Poetry Month 2021 for which I asked New Hampshire poets to recommend books of poetry by Granite State poets. These titles are generally available from local booksellers and may be held in public libraries as well.
