Ladybug Nominee Profile

When a glamorous peacock arrives and gets all the attention at the Tuckers' farm the hens are not happy. When they seek the spotlight for themselves, however they learn that they are happier doing their own job.

Lester L. Laminack wrote this story which was illustrated by Henry Cole. This is one of the ten titles nominated for the 2012 Ladybug Picture Book Award.  Mr. Cole's work has been nominated before: Bad Boys Get Henpecked (2010) and Big Chickens Fly the Coop (2009) were past Ladybug Picture Book Award nominees.
