Kate DiCamillo |
Most of the festival programs are scheduled for Saturday, October 5 and will be free for everyone to attend.
On Friday the festival kicks off with two ticketed events which are helping to fund the free Saturday programming:
Kate DiCamillo will be giving a Children's Keynote at 10am (which is sold out!) and Jean Hanff Korelitz will give the Inaugural Festival Keynote at 7pm at the Capitol Center for the Arts. A few tickets for the evening event are still available.
On Saturday night, at 5pm, the Capitol Center will again host Ms. DiCamillo for a ticketed program, the Family Keynote: From Novel to Netflix: How The Magician’s Elephant Became a Beloved Animated Movie.
A unique, live presentation by two-time Newbery Medal winning author whose works include bestsellers Because of Winn-Dixie, The Tale of Despereaux, and the Mercy Watson series. DiCamillo discusses her beloved novel The Magician’s Elephant and the behind-the-scenes story on how it became a Netflix Original movie. Bonus: Tickets include a copy of The Magician’s Elephant and a screening of the movie.
I hope to see you there!
