Book of the Week (1/20/2020)

Celibacy, a Love Story: Memoir of a Catholic Priest's Daughter by Mimi Bull (Bauhan, 2019).
"Mimi Bull presents Celibacy: A Love Story, a tender, but honest memoir of a life lived in the shadow of a huge secret. Mimi Bull was born in the 1930s believing she had been adopted by two women, a mother and daughter. It wasn’t until she had her own children that she learned her adoptive parents were actually blood relatives––her grandmother and mother, and it wasn’t for over another decade that she would finally discover her father was the Catholic priest who she had known all her life as a close family friend. Bull writes lovingly of her parents and the effort it took to protect this secret, but she also shares her pain, with many years spent trying to find a sense of belonging and others who shared her story."
New Hampshire author Mimi Bull will present her book Celibacy: A Love Story at Gibson's Bookstore in Concord on Thursday, January 23rd, 2020 at 6 pm.
