BeatrixPotter (1866-1943) created many beloved children’s characters, including Peter
Rabbit, Miss Moppet, Squirrel Nutkin, and Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle. She was a
family friend of the Coolidges, dedicating her last novel to Henry P. Coolidge,
who, as a child, visited her in England with his mother.
