New Hampshire Writers' Week

New Hampshire Writers' Week is an initiative of the NH Writers' Project:
"Our goal is to celebrate our rich literary heritage while also putting a spotlight on the diverse writers living and working in our state. There will be events statewide in bookstores, libraries, and cafes as well as some very special announcements scheduled for the week, including the opening of nominations for the upcoming NH Literary Hall of Fame, a long list of NH authors available to appear at book clubs in 2015, and more."
In honor of New Hampshire Writers' Week,  each day this week, starting tomorrow, we will present a list of books by NH Writers. Each day will have its own theme and no writer will be included more than once or in more than one list (though many of our state's writers work in multiple genres). We have chosen 9 books for each list (because NH was the 9th state

A note on our selections -- I left out LOTS of great writers when I selected these books, I intentionally left out the writers that seemed super obvious in each category. I also chose, in some cases, lesser known work by someone you may think of as belonging in another category. The richness of our state's literary culture makes choosing a list of books really difficult and part of our goal in this project was to point readers to work they might not already know about. We invite you to  tell us about your favorite books by NH authors in these genres by adding comments to the posts.

At the end of the week we will add all the lists to the Center's webpage in a printable format suitable for taking with you to your local library or bookstore. We hope these lists will inspire you to read the work of your fellow Granite Staters.
