Oliver Jeffers, an artist currently living in Brooklyn, brings us this tale of a boy who throws everything he's got at the problem of a kite stuck in a tree. There is a trailer for this book on YouTube. Oliver Jeffers World includes activities, coloring, and generally stuff to do.
April is traditionally National Kite Month, and you can learn about the history of kites at the NKM website. NASA also has some good kite resources. There are fun facts and lots of cool pictures on the website of the International Kite Festival. which is held in Bristol, England.
This is one of the ten titles nominated for the 2013 Ladybug Picture Book Award.
