Ladybug Nominee Profile

In Me Jane author and illustrator Patrick McDonnell tells us the story of the young Jane Goodall and her stuffed chimpanzee, Jubilee. The activities page on Mr. McDonnell's website includes puzzles and coloring pages on his various books, including this one. The Kid's Wings site has activities related to this book and you can learn more about chimpanzees from National Geographic's creature features.

This is one of the ten titles nominated for the 2012 Ladybug Picture Book Award.  This book was selected as a Caldecott Honor Book.
