Poet Len Krisak Featured at Hyla Brook Reading Series Along with 2012 Frost Farm Prize Winner Richard MeyerOn Thursday, June 14, 2012, 6:30-8:30pm, the Robert Frost Farm’s Hyla Brook Reading Series features Poet Len Krisak. In addition, there is a special reading by Richard Meyer of Mankato, Minn., the winner of the 2nd Annual Frost Farm Prize. Held at the Robert Frost Farm at 122 Rockingham Rd (Rt 28), the Reading Series is free and open to the public. An Open Mic will follow the readings and all audience members are invited to share their work.Krisak has taught at Brandeis, Northeastern University and Stonehill College. His two chapbooks, Midland and Fugitive Child, came out in 1999 from Somers Rocks Press and Aralia Press, respectively. In 2000, his work Even as We Speak won the Richard Wilbur Prize and was published by the University of Evansville Press. His other published works include: If Anything (WordPress, 2004); Ovid's Odes of Horace Amatoria, a complete translation (Carcanet Books, 2006); and Virgil's Ecologues, a complete translation (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2010). He is a past recipient of Robert Penn Warren and Robert Frost Prizes and several awards from the New England Poetry Club, the Los Angeles Poetry Festival, and numerous other organizations. He is the former winner of GoldPocket.com National Trivia Competition and is a four-time Champion on Jeopardy!Meyer won the 2012 Frost Farm Prize for metrical poetry for his poem, "Fieldstone." Meyer, a former English and humanities teacher, lives in the home his father built in Mankato, a city at the bend of the Minnesota River. His poems have appeared in various print and online publications, including Able Muse, 14, SCR, The Classical Outlook, and The Flea.
