In preparation for submitting a grant application to the NEA Big Read program for an October 2007 project that we (the NH Humanities Council and the NH Center for the Book) are calling NH Reads Fahrenheit 451, I have been compiling lists, creating web sites, drafting budgets and plans, and generally overloading on this book. (At least it is a really good book!)
I have received email from many libraries, schools, and other organizations around the state who may want to be a part of this project and I will be contacting most of them in the next few days to talk about where they are at with planning for this event. If you are interested in being involved and haven't yet contacted me (mrussell@library.state.nh.us) about it, the time is now. Once the grant application goes in it will be very tough, if not impossible, to add more events/sites if resources (like books) will be needed that were not included in the grant application.
To learn more about this project visit the NH Reads Fahrenheit 451 site!
