Frost Farm Prize Winner Reads at Hyla Brook Reading Series

Philadelphia Poet Rob Wright Appears June 12
The Robert Frost Farm’s 2014 Hyla Brook Reading Series Season continues on Thursday, June 12, 2014, 6:30-8:30pm with special double feature by the 4th Annual Frost Farm Prize Winner Rob Wright of Philadelphia and celebrated judge of the contest, Rhina P. Espaillat. 
The Reading Series, held in the Frost Farm located at 122 Rockingham Rd (Rt 28), is free and open to the public. An Open Mic follows the readings and all audience members are invited to share their work. 
Wright’s poem “Meetings With My Father” won the prestigious prize out of nearly 600 entries from around the world.  The Frost Farm Prize – one of the only metrical poetry contests – is organized by the Trustees of the Robert Frost Farm and the Hyla Brook Poets.  In addition to being a featured reader at The Hyla Brook Reading Series, Wright won $1,000 and his winning poem will be published in The Evansville Review
Wright is an assistant fiction editor to the magazine Able Muse. He was awarded Fellowships in Literature from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts in 2005 and 2007, and was twice nominated for the Pushcart Prize. His writing has been published by Schuylkill Valley Journal of the ArtsBig City Lit, and Able Muse
Joining Wright is award-winning poet and translator Rhina Espaillat, who judged the contest.  Espaillat has published poems, essays, short stories and translations in numerous magazines and over sixty anthologies, in both English and her native Spanish, as well as three chapbooks and nine fulllength books, including four in bilingual format.  Her most recent honors are the May Sarton Award from the New England Poetry Club, a Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Award from Salem State College, and an award in recognition of services to Dominican letters, from the Ministry of Culture of the Dominican Republic.
