NH Poetry: The Empty Chair

Kyle Potvin recommends The Empty Chair by Robert W. Crawford (The University of Evansville Press, 2012)

"Robert Crawford writes about commonplace items--an adirondack chair, a kitchen, the stars--to tell bigger truths about love and life. You could be halfway through the collection before realizing his work is mostly in form. His poems are beautifully crafted, using rhyme and meter to reinforce universal themes. 2011 was a good year for Bob--he won the prestigious Howard Nemerov Sonnet Award (his second) as well as the Richard Wilbur Award--both well deserved honors." --Kyle Potvin

Kyle Potvin lives in Derry, NH.  Her chapbook, “Sound Travels on Water,” is due out in September 2012 from Finishing Line Press. She is on the Board of the Poetry Society of New Hampshire and helps coordinate the Frost Farm's Hyla Brook Reading Series, cofounded by Robert W. Crawford and Bill Gleed.
