Warner's Fall Foliage Festival

Katharine Nevins, owner of MainStreet BookEnds of Warner emailed me this announcement:

MainStreet BookEnds Celebrates 10th Anniversary during Warner's Fall Foliage Festival!

The store welcomes all to come celebrate with them for their 10th birthday Saturday & Sunday, October 11 & 12. Music, writers, and artists galore!

On Saturday @ 11 am MainStreet Warner, Inc. is honored to officially break ground for the community park envisioned by Jim Mitchell. Planned between MainStreet BookEnds and the Pillsbury Free Library, the park will include an amphitheater, beautiful gardens to wander and relax, and an opportunity to honor the many families, craftspeople, and artists that make up this remarkable town of Warner.

Warner designer Wendy Hanwell will be out front of the bookstore manning the MainStreet Warner, Inc. & Park Information Table, with her amazing, reusable, and useful RubyRetro oilcloth creations; bags, wallets, place mats & tablecloths. Fabulous and functional! She will be donating 10% of all Festival sales to the community park building project, and all the artists, authors and musicians are onboard donating their time to the cause!

Local children's author David Elliott will be out front on Saturday with all of his amazing books, including the recently released Knitty Kitty, What the Grizzly Knows, Wuv Bunnies from Outers Pace, On the Farm, Evangeline Mudd, One Little Chicken & Jeremy Cabbage. True Kelley will be with him to sign her many children's books, including her newest The Dog Who Saved Santa, HazelNutt, and Blabber Mouse.

Local artist Gigi Laberge will be demonstrating her glass jewelry technique and selling her beautiful pieces. Her glass work blends the use of dichroic and non-coated glass to create depth, and dreams in glass jewelry.

Local musicians Click Horning and Friends will be performing on Saturday, and Marcia Wyman will be doing Tai Chi Demonstrations and Clinics through the day.

John Archer on Saturday, October 11 @ 1 pm. We are extraordinarily proud to host the premiere book signing for John Archer and his newly published book, Walking Backwards Toward Old Age. John, who be 100 years old in December, is the oldest newly published author in the country! His delightful book of "versology" spans a lifetime of teaching at St. Paul's School and raising his family in Contoocook. Publishing Works will be distributing this book nationwide. Join us and John in The Gallery during Warner's Fall Foliage Festival!

On Sunday @ noon we are pleased to host the native Peruvian band Cusco. The educational traveling band is sponsored by Mountain Spirit Institute, featuring musicians Guillermo Seminario, Augusto Taype, and Mario Montalvo. They are professional musicians and gifted teachers, and we are pleased to introduce them and their music to the area.
